Osprey Charging launches its largest EV charging hub in Wales at Glamorgan Vale retail park
08/01/2025
Osprey Charging has opened its largest Welsh hub at Glamorgan Vale Retail Park, marking a significant milestone in its expansion across the country.
The new charging location in Talbot Green, Glamorgan features 16 bays equipped with state-of-the-art charge points that are compatible with every electric vehicle (EV) on the market today.
The Glamorgan Vale hub builds on Osprey’s commitment to providing essential infrastructure for Wales’s growing number of EV drivers. This launch follows recent hub openings at Cardiff’s Capital Shopping Park and Billy Jeans Café in Holywell, part of an ongoing expansion that has brought more than 50 new rapid and ultra-rapid charge points to Wales in 2024 alone. The substantial rollout supports improved air quality, reduced noise pollution, and local decarbonisation efforts.
Ian Johnston, CEO of Osprey Charging said: “Our goal is to make EV charging available and dependable for every driver, wherever they live and travel in Great Britain. Opening our largest hub in Wales at Glamorgan Vale Retail Park is a major step forward in achieving that vision, and we’re proud to be one of the driving forces behind Wales’s EV transition. With over 100 rapid charge points now in the region, Osprey Charging is here to support every driver in making the switch to electric.”
Since installing 12 rapid charge points with Cardiff Council in 2020, Osprey has been at the forefront of delivering super-fast, simple and convenient charging in Wales. The Glamorgan Vale Retail Park hub exemplifies these efforts with simple payment options, including contactless bank cards, Apple/Google Pay, the Osprey App and RFID card payments, as well as payments through all major third-party payment methods.
With over 1,200 charging bays now available across the UK, Osprey’s multi-award-winning network is setting the standard in rapid expansion and reliability, maintaining a 99% uptime rate. Recognised as a Zap-Map ‘Driver Recommended Network’ for the fourth consecutive year, as voted by UK drivers, Osprey is celebrated for providing safe, accessible, and dependable charging locations.
