Together with Virta, AVEX, operator of 23 petrol stations in Germany, has opened its first fast EV charging hub for cars and trucks in Euskirchen near Cologne.

With this step, AVEX is strategically expanding its offering and focusing on the increasing importance of e-mobility.

Modern fast charging infrastructure for all types of electric vehicles

The new charging hub in Euskirchen near Cologne offers state-of-the-art fast-charging solutions: Four Alpitronic Hypercharger HYC 400 charging stations with a total of eight connections enable charging capacities of up to 400 kW. This reduces charging times to a minimum - a range of 100 km can be charged in just a few minutes. Vehicles charge here almost as quickly as they refuel.

Two charging stations have been set up specifically for heavy-duty vehicles in order to meet the growing demand in the transport sector.

AVEX is creating an efficient fast-charging infrastructure for the population in Euskirchen and traffic coming from nearby freeways. This will significantly promote the switch to environmentally friendly electric mobility.

Christian Ohrem, head of petrol stations at AVEX said: "At our site in Euskirchen, we have successfully opened a modern charging hub with fast-charging solutions for various vehicle types in recent weeks. We are particularly pleased that customers from the heavy-duty sector have already visited the charging park and that the first charging sessions have already been carried out at the charging station that is specially designed for electric trucks."

The charging infrastructure was developed and implemented in collaboration with Virta, the leading B2B provider of comprehensive solutions in the field of electromobility.

Virta contributed its expertise in the planning, procurement, management and operation of the charging infrastructure and now ensures a seamless charging experience with innovative products.

More than 1,000 companies around the world already trust Virta as their reliable partner for the successful implementation of EV charging solutions.

"With Virta, we have a partner at our side who provided us with expert advice and support during the planning and implementation of the charging hub," continues Christian Ohrem.

User-friendliness thanks to the Virta platform

Thanks to the integration into the Virta platform, users benefit from a comprehensive service. The intuitive app makes it possible to find charging points quickly, reserve them, use them easily and pay for charging processes.

At the same time, the connection to an international charging network with over 500,000 charging points via roaming provides access to hundreds of thousands of EV drivers. Virta takes over the management of the charging stations and the processing of payments, which guarantees a smooth process and innovative features.

Future-oriented investment with a focus on sustainability

With the integration of a photovoltaic system at the site, the charging hub is also supplied with emission-free electricity. The decision to use this sustainable energy source underlines AVEX's commitment to environmentally friendly mobility.

AVEX is setting a high standard for petrol stations locally and globally and sees electromobility as a central pillar of its future business development.

The company plans to gradually expand its range of fast-charging solutions to other locations in Germany. This is setting an important milestone in promoting electromobility and positioning itself as a pioneer in the integration of innovative solutions into the traditional petrol station business.

Horst Martinez, sales executive at Virta said: "The commissioning of the charging hub in Euskirchen underlines the importance of charging infrastructure for the successful transformation to electromobility. AVEX is demonstrating a high level of innovation and a clear commitment to electromobility with its early implementation. We value our partnership with AVEX and look forward to developing further EV charging projects together."
