EDF gives EV leasers 5,000 free miles of electric driving in new offer
EDF is excited to announce it is offering £130 account credit to those who lease an electric vehicle (EV) and sign up to its GoElectric tariff.
Equivalent to 5,000 free electric miles, customers can drive from London to Paris and back nine times over and can cover on average up to 8 months of driving.
The offer is available to new and existing customers who lease an EV through Drive Electric, a prominent EV leasing provider, and sign up to EDF’s market leading EV tariff, GoElectric. The tariff, which is the cheapest fixed EV tariff, delivers £316 in savings compared to standard variable rate, delivering cheaper electricity rates for both drivers’ EV and home[iii]. Backed by zero carbon electricity, GoElectric comes with five hours off-peak charging between 12am – 5am.
For selected eligible EV models and chargers, an extra £251 can be saved with EDF’s Smart Charging bolt-on[v], which gives customers access to more off-peak electricity rates for their car and home, by letting EDF automatically charge their EV when electricity is cheapest and greenest.
Alongside this offer, customers may also wrap in an optional Pod Point Solo3S home charger to the lease for £19.65 per month[vii], supplied by Pod, allowing customers to access fast and reliable charging.
Rich Hughes, director of Retail at EDF said: “We know that lower driving costs are a major attraction for most drivers when switching to electric driving, so we’re pleased, at EDF, to be able to offer customers the full solution. At a time when more EV’s are becoming eligible for government grants, we’re offering 5,000 free miles up front, along with a comprehensive package that covers leasing, charging, and energy savings. It’s everything drivers need to make the switch to electric driving an easy choice. Additionally, with our recent five-star Trustpilot rating for customer service, customers can feel confident they’re in safe hands.”
The offer is available to anyone who leases an EV via Drive Electric between 12 August and 1 November 2025, and EDF will credit £130 to the customer's account within 60 days of their EDF GoElectric tariff going live.
